After honing their skills and paying their dues as a Canadian independent rock band, Exit This Side has finally stepped it up to the next level and are ready to reach the masses with their recently released album Just In Case The World Ends. The result of the Vancouver boys’ great song-writing ability and a collaboration with esteemed producer Gggarth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Hedley), Just In case The World Ends is an album that showcases their keen sense for creating unforgettable hooks and melodies, and their knack for writing lyrics that are personal, meaningful, and clever. Influenced in their youth by bands such as Guns n’ Roses and Bon Jovi, the boys have developed a modern sound that can be described as a perfect mixture of power-pop and dirty rock and roll! This is exemplified no better than by their songs “Girlfriend”, which was mixed by Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Deftones), and by their first single “One Night Stand” which has already had over 9000 downloads on iTunes, and has risen to #25 on the Canadian Top 50 chart – something that is rarely achieved by independent bands.
The success of “One Night Stand” can be attributed not only to their experienced song writing, but also to their ability to make the right business choices and to the loyal fan base that they have built up nation wide. Before the album had even been finished, the boys hunted down and enlisted the help of the renowned radio tracker Dale Peters of Dale Speaking to begin promoting their single to radio. The overwhelming response of radio stations and their listeners to “One Night Stand” caused the band to rapidly climb the charts and as a result Exit This Side was announced as the CHUM Radio Emerging Artist of the Month for April 2009.
Exit This Side has recently signed with The Pilot Agency and is slated to tour this coming spring starting in March where they have a showcase at Canadian Music Week in Toronto. Unlike many other pop/rock acts around today, Exit This Side’s slick sound is not just the result of fancy studio tricks and auto-tune, but a reflection of the genuine musical talent that each and every member possesses. Not only do these guys know how to play their respective instruments, but they also know how to entertain! After spending the last few years playing with such acts as Hedley, Goldfinger, Theory of a Deadman, Billy Talent, Default and many others, Exit This Side has developed a high energy, tight, and in-your-face live show that has both their fans and industry types buzzing. With all the right ingredients in place, huge success is only a few short steps away for Exit This Side. Look out for these guys in the coming months, because if you’ve only just heard of them now, you will be sure to hear much, much more!
